Project Description

Pisa

One of the most beautiful towns of the peninsula is Pisa, about 2 hours by car from Castiglione della Pescaia. The History of the origins of Pisa is wrapped in the legend, based on different versions: One, from Greece, said that Pisa was founded by Trojans on the run from a town named Pisa, but the latest one said that the town was founded by a ligurian colony, but if we think about the wonderful building’s architectural structure, the origin seems to be later than that age.
Pisa, thanks to its masterpieces, was declared Unesco World Heritage Site.
The famous Cathedral Square, worldwide known as Piazza dei Miracoli for its leaning tower, one of the most beautiful world’s monuments. The famous tower is not the only one to be leaned, the bell tower of St. Nicholas Churchand that of San Michele degli Scalzi.
Going back to Piazza dei Miracoli, the romanesque Cathedral with its bronze portal and the Baptistry of St. John, are certainly not to miss.
Pisais not only famous for its wonderful Piazza, but also for its beautiful churches and museums.
