One day, out of curiosity, he followed the calf to the roots of an ash tree where he found a wooden statue of the Madonna among the branches. The statue of the Madonna is still preserved in the Sanctuary of Suvereto.

The famous Olive tree in Magliano is considered among the oldest olive trees known in that area and with a circumference of more than 8 meters, and is related to more than one legend. For example it is said that in Christian times, parties were celebrated around the tree in honor of the deities worshiped by pagans. Other medieval tales narrate that under the olive tree of Magliano the meeting of all the witches in Maremma took place. The most famous legend tells of a witch in particular that, dancing every Friday around it, gave to the olive tree in Magliano the twisted shape it has today
